The company came to us with an established but rather stagnant, safe and comfortable brand, whose look and tone of voice were very much in keeping with the industry’s norms and expectations. Elbrus James wanted to refresh the brand to give it greater impact and presence, and encapsulate the principles of teamwork and shared talent at the heart of the business.

Clearly, we had to take the brand right away from the standard approach to imagery and industry-speak to make it more distinctive and aspirational: at the same time, we understood that financial services is a highly conservative sector, where being a ‘safe pair of hands’ is crucial and everyone prefers their cannons firmly tied down. Our approach was therefore evolutionary, rather than revolutionary; refining the logo, updating the tone of voice and redesigning the website to highlight the breadth of services and experience within the Elbrus James group.
